Lot 508: A large hand-blown amber and red glass floor vase with elongated neck 40cm tall

A hand-blown art glass vase of bulbous teardrop form, tapering to an elongated neck with an asymmetrical, angled rim. The vessel is constructed from honey-coloured amber glass containing numerous internal air bubbles, known as seed glass. The exterior is decorated with applied, pulled trails of vibrant red glass forming looping and teardrop motifs around the lower body. The underside of the base features a rough, snapped pontil mark. Remnants of markings in red pigment are present on the base; these appear as fragmented curved lines and smudges which are not legible as a name or recognizable characters.
