Lot 580: A glass desktop Galileo thermometer with seven internal bulbs 46cm

A sealed glass cylinder containing a clear fluid and seven internal hand-blown glass bulbs. Each bulb contains a liquid in a different colour, including shades of red, blue, green, and orange. Suspended from each bulb is a circular metal tag attached by a small wire ring. The tags are stamped with numerical values followed by a degree symbol to indicate specific temperatures. Legible tags are stamped 24°, 22°, 21°, 20°, and 18°. The cylinder is finished with a pointed blown-glass tip and rests upon an integral wide circular base.
