Buyer's Premium:

An English earthenware pair of bottle vases produced in Burslem, Staffordshire, designed in the Chinoiserie style to emulate cloisonne enamel. Each piece is formed with a bulbous body tapering to a slender neck with a slightly flared rim. The decoration features a mottled cobalt blue ground with large central panels containing hand-painted floral sprays of peonies in shades of red, yellow, and purple, alongside scrolling green foliage and a pheasant-like bird with golden plumage. A smaller floral sprig is positioned on the neck, which is topped by a sepia-toned scroll and pendant border at the rim. No Chinese reign marks are present. The underside of each vase features a printed blue mark with the cursive text Losol Ware above a crown device, followed by MAGNOLIA, KEELING & Co LTD, BURSLEM, and ENGLAND. A hand-painted green pattern number 5301 and a green character R are also visible, along with a faint impressed number 101. This mark was used by the factory between approximately 1912 and 1936.
