Lot 605: A collection of vintage barware and smoking accessories including Zippo and Ronson lighters

A collection of barware and gentleman’s sundries including a plastic ice bucket with a white lid, featuring a gold-toned adhesive label reading ‘Schweppes SINCE 1783’ with a red crown device. The set includes a ceramic barrel-shaped spirit dispenser decorated with red bands and gilt scrollwork, with black Gothic-style text reading ‘SCOTCH’ and a metal tap at the base. A glazed ceramic ashtray features black and gold text to the rim reading ‘BRISTOL TIPPED CIGARETTES’. Included is a collection of lighters, most notably a chrome-finish lighter with foliate engraving housed in its original plastic display case, which is printed ‘Zippo U.S.A. LIGHTER’ and ‘LIFETIME GUARANTEE’. Further lighters include several silver-tone Ronson examples, one of which features a base impressed ‘RONSON’, ‘TRADE MARK’, ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’, ‘PATENTED’, and another silver-tone lighter with a base impressed ‘X Supreme KOREA’. A textured gold-tone gas lighter and one additional slim silver-tone lighter complete the group. The barware is supplemented by automatic spirit pourers, one of which remains in its original cardboard retail box printed ‘AUTOMATIC ADJUSTABLE POURER’, ‘ADJUSTS FROM 1 oz TO 1 1/2 oz’, ‘Tip-Measure’. A group of hip flasks are present, including a brushed stainless steel example, a leather-bound version with a detachable metal cup lid, and a miniature flask with a tartan cover. There is also a group of graduated white metal handled noggins and a single beaker. Two smoking pipes are included: one with a rusticated faceted wood bowl and a metal band to the stem, and a novelty hand-carved wood pipe shaped as a bird’s head with glass bead eyes and a curved stem.
