Lot 641: A Boxed Tri-ang Railways RS.3 Electric Model Railway Set

A Tri-ang Railways RS.3 electric model railway train set. The locomotive and rolling stock feature plastic bodies with die-cast metal components. The locomotive is a British Railways Standard Class 7 steam engine in green livery with cab side number 70000 and red nameplates reading BRITANNIA to the smoke deflectors. The accompanying tender bears the late British Railways crest. The three Pullman carriages are finished in traditional brown and cream livery and are individually named MARY, CAR No 79, and ANNE. The set includes a selection of Tri-ang black plastic sleeper track sections and a manual point. The Tri-ang P.5 power unit controller features a grey hammer-tone finish metal casing with a red plastic dial and a faceplate printed with Tri-ang P.5. POWER UNIT WITH AUX. D.C. and ROVEX SCALE MODELS LIMITED. An associated wooden and plywood station platform and building is included, featuring vintage-style advertising labels for Airman CIGARETTES and PRATT’S DOG FOODS. The set is housed in its original red cardboard box with a yellow circular adhesive sticker reading RS.3 and a yellow card interior display insert printed Tri-ang RAILWAYS RS.3 TRAIN SET.
