A group of numismatic items and regional ephemera focusing on British national celebrations. The collection includes a 1951 UK Festival of Britain cupro-nickel crown with a face value of five shillings. The obverse features a bare-headed portrait of King George VI facing left with the legend GEORGIVS VI D: G: BR: OMN: REX F: D: and the denomination FIVE SHILLINGS below. The reverse depicts St George and the Dragon after Pistrucci, dated 1951. The edge is incised with the Latin legend MDCCCLI CIVIUM INDUSTRIÀ FLORET CIVITAS MCMLI. This piece is accompanied by its original maroon card box embossed with the festival crest and 1951, and a printed information leaflet titled FESTIVAL OF BRITAIN.

Also included is a large white metal commemorative medal for the 1851 International Exhibition in London. The obverse shows the conjoined profile portraits of Prince Albert and Queen Victoria. The reverse depicts the Crystal Palace and includes an extensive inscription reading PROPOSED BY H.R.H. PRINCE ALBERT, DESIGNED BY JOSEPH PAXTON ESQ. F.L.S. and ERECTED BY FOX, HENDERSON & CO. The text further details physical dimensions and the estimated building value.

A third numismatic item is a gilt-metal commemorative medal for H.M. Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee, June 2002, featuring the Queen and children on the obverse and a commemorative inscription within a laurel wreath on the reverse.

The associated ephemera is housed in a blue ring binder and comprises vintage black and white postcards. Subjects include multi-view cards of Newcastle-on-Tyne showing the Tyne Bridge and Grainger Street, Jesmond Dene, and aerial and interior views of Ushaw College. The album also contains heraldic postcards of Oxford and Cambridge college arms, and views of Cairo and the Pyramids in Egypt.
