Lot 665: Two Royal Doulton Bunnykins ceramic mugs

This lot comprises two single-handled ceramic mugs from the Royal Doulton Bunnykins series. One mug is an English fine bone china example with a flared rim, decorated with transfer-printed Wild West scenes including rabbits in feathered headdresses with tomahawks, a rabbit on a hobby horse, and a rabbit in a blue dress and apron. A continuous border of running rabbits is printed around the upper exterior rim. The base features a printed backstamp consisting of a lion standing on a crown above a circular mark reading MADE IN ROYAL DOULTON ENGLAND surrounding a central D monogram, below which is a vignette of three rabbits and the text ENGLISH FINE BONE CHINA, BUNNYKINS, and REGD. TRADE MARK with a circled R symbol. The second mug is an earthenware example with straight sides, featuring transfer-printed scenes of a rabbit in a blue jacket fishing into a goldfish bowl and, on the reverse, the same character chasing a winged insect with a butterfly net. A border of running rabbits is printed around the interior rim. The base bears a printed backstamp with a lion on a crown above a circular mark reading MADE IN ROYAL DOULTON ENGLAND surrounding a central D monogram, with three rabbits and the word BUNNYKINS printed below.
