Lot 672: An Assortment of British Breweriana including Whitbread Trophy Special Bar Lights and Advertising Ashtrays

An assortment of mid-to-late 20th-century British brewery advertising items. The collection includes a pair of counter-top electric bar lights with moulded ceramic bodies finished in a mottled brown glaze. Each light features a central shield-shaped panel with a maroon background printed with WHITBREAD TROPHY SPECIAL, a trophy device, and BREWED AT CASTLE EDEN. The sides are decorated with relief scrollwork. The reverse is fitted with a white plastic housing secured by two matching plastic screws, containing a bulb socket and power cord. Also included is a round white ceramic ashtray printed with the name MANNS in white within a red scalloped cartouche on the exterior rim. The second ashtray is triangular in form, featuring the name Worthington printed three times in blue script around the rim, bordered by a red circular line and gold-toned scrollwork patterns.
