Lot 739: An Adams Royal Ivory Titian Ware earthenware table service

This set of Adams Titian Ware earthenware table service pieces features vibrant hand-painted floral motifs on an ivory-toned ground. The collection consists of octagonal-formed ceramic vessels and plates, each decorated with a central spray of stylised flowers in blue, yellow, and orange. The pieces are finished with scalloped polychrome borders featuring undulating lines in blue, orange, and green. Included in the set are two large lidded vegetable tureens with pedestal bases and conforming knops, a single gravy boat, a large rectangular serving platter, and multiple stacks of graduated octagonal plates. A printed brown manufacturer’s mark is located on the underside of the pieces, reading ESTB. 1657 above a rectangular cartouche containing the name ADAMS, flanked by the words ROYAL and IVORY, with ENGLAND and TITIAN WARE printed below. Some items also feature a hand-painted blue alphanumeric production mark.
