Lot 738: A Collection of Royal Albert Old Country Roses Bone China Tea and Coffee Service with Place Mats

A collection of Royal Albert bone china in the Old Country Roses pattern, decorated with transfer-printed floral motifs featuring clusters of burgundy, pink, and yellow roses with green foliage. The pieces feature characteristic scalloped rims with heavy stippled gilding. The group comprises a tall coffee pot with lid, a lidded sugar bowl, a large open serving bowl, a medium open bowl, two small oval dishes, and four straight-sided mugs. Further pieces include a selection of stacked plates and bowls in various sizes, three small circular dishes, and a decorative ceramic floral ornament featuring a cluster of roses. The lot is accompanied by a set of melamine place mats in the original red presentation box printed in gold with ROYAL ALBERT and Melamine Place Mats. The underside of the ceramic pieces bears a multi-coloured backstamp featuring a rose graphic above the pink cursive script Old Country Roses, followed by ROYAL ALBERT, BONE CHINA, and ENGLAND in green block capitals. A distinct vertical scratch is visible through the centre of the floral graphic in the backstamp.
