A collection of vintage British folding maps, tourist guides, and automotive ephemera, primarily dating from the early-to-mid 20th century. The group includes multiple examples of Bartholomew’s maps, featuring printed titles such as BARTHOLOMEW’S NEW REDUCED SURVEY for AYR & CLYDESDALE and BERWICK & HADDINGTON, and BARTHOLOMEW’S REVISED ‘HALF-INCH’ CONTOURED MAPS covering PERTH & DUNDEE, SEVERN ESTUARY, and DERBYSHIRE. Several examples are noted as being DISSECTED & MOUNTED ON CLOTH.

Ordnance Survey maps within the collection include a SECOND EDITION Tourist Map of THE TROSSACHS AND LOCH LOMOND, and contoured road maps for the RIVER TWEED and STOW-on-the-WOLD and DISTRICT. Also present is a green-covered HARDINGS’ guide map to THE DISTRICT OF KELSO & JEDBURGH published by J.W. HARDING & CO. (NOTTM) LIMITED 39a Park Row Nottingham, a yellow Automobile Association AND Motor Union map for DURHAM, and a NORTH BRITISH RAILWAY TOURIST MAP titled The Key to Scotland’s Beauties.

The collection features advertising ephemera, including a THE MICHELIN WHEEL pamphlet illustrated with the Bibendum character. A handwritten ink inscription reading W. Saunders 25/6/32 is present on the upper right corner of the Derbyshire map cover. Publication prices are printed on several covers, including Price Three Shillings Net and FOUR SHILLINGS NET. The items are bound in a variety of card wraps and soft paper covers.
