Lot 121: Steven Brown, Geordie McCoo & The Wee Yin, acrylic on canvas 76x76cm and three limited edition unframed prints

A contemporary Scottish art lot by Steven Brown, comprising one original acrylic painting on stretched canvas and an assortment of three limited edition prints. The primary canvas features the artist’s signature Highland cows, rendered in a vibrant, multi-coloured impasto style with vertical linear brushwork. The background is executed in a monochrome grayscale palette, depicting the equestrian statue of the Duke of Wellington in Glasgow, complete with the iconic orange and white traffic cones atop the figures. The canvas is signed Steven Brown in black paint in the lower-left corner.

The lot includes three collector’s edition prints. One print is titled Geordie McCoo & The Wee Yin, replicating the composition of the original canvas. A second print is titled Oor Wullie & Big Tam McCoo and features the DC Thomson comic character Oor Wullie standing on a bucket alongside a Highland cow against a mountainous landscape. The prints bear a printed Steven Brown signature in the lower-left and a hand-signed signature in cursive script to the lower-right margin. The Oor Wullie print includes a copyright line reading Oor Wullie ® © DC Thomson & Co. Ltd. 2018.
