A watercolor on paper by D. W. Forster, depicting a Tynempouth coastal scene. The foreground features two figures and a child situated on a shingle beach beside a makeshift canvas tent. One figure appears to be tending a small fire while another stands to the right. In the middle ground, a small rowing boat with figures is visible on the water. The background shows a prominent cliffside topped with the ruins of a castle and adjacent cottages, rendered in an impressionistic style with a palette of soft blues, purples, and earthy ochres.
