A traditional landscape painting in oil on canvas titled Winter Evening by the British artist Alwyn Crawshaw. The composition features a lone workhorse being led by two figures along a snow-covered, rutted track. A large, bare tree dominates the left foreground, its intricate branches rendered with fine brushwork against a hazy pale blue and pink sky. The artist’s signature is painted in black block capitals in the lower left corner reading ALWYN CRAWSHAW. The work is presented in a contemporary composite frame featuring a gilt outer edge, a wide mustard-coloured fabric-covered mount, and a white inner slip. The verso of the painting shows the canvas support secured to a wooden stretcher. The top bar of the stretcher is inscribed in pencil with the title WINTER EVENING.
