Lot 156: Northern Lights Electric Table Lamp in the Style of a Victorian Oil Lamp

An electric table lamp by Northern Lights, designed in the form of a traditional oil or hurricane lamp. The bronzed metal base supports a central ceramic section with a cream crackle glaze. This ceramic body features a blue transfer-printed scene of a Victorian-style grocery store interior. The shop counter is printed with the text MUCH WENLOCK FINE GROCERIES, WINES & ALES. Below this scene, the text NORTHERN LIGHTS is printed in small capital letters. The burner assembly is composed of bronzed metal and includes a mock wick adjuster knob. The lighting system consists of a dual-glass arrangement: a central clear glass chimney and an outer frosted glass globe. The outer shade features a scalloped rim and etched floral and scroll patterns. The lamp is wired for electricity with a black cable and a UK 3-pin plug. An adhesive label on the plug reads B.S. 1363 U.K. STANDARDS.
