Lot 161: Two antique mirrors including a Victorian mahogany toilet mirror and an Edwardian gilt wall mirror

This lot contains two antique mirrors. The first is a 19th-century Victorian mahogany toilet mirror featuring a rectangular swing frame with simple linear moulding. The frame is supported by two upright posts with shaped terminals, connected by a horizontal stretcher. The mirror is secured by two adjustable brass thumb screws with circular backplates and sits on a trestle base with four scrolling bracket feet. The second item is an early 20th-century Edwardian wall mirror of bell-shaped form. The frame is constructed from oak with a heavy, textured grain, decorated with applied gilded composition floral and scrolling foliate ornaments. The oval mirror plate is finished with a bevelled edge. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on either piece.
