Lot 162: A large oval Venetian style wall mirror with decorative etched glass border
A large wall mirror of oval form in the Venetian style. The central bevelled mirror plate is surrounded by a border of ten shaped and bevelled glass segments. Each border segment features an acid-etched or sandblasted foliate and floral scrolling design, highlighted with a golden-yellow pigment. The individual segments and the outer circumference are finished with a dark, twisted rope-effect metal trim.
