Lot 172: A large hand-blown art glass egg with cobalt blue spiral decoration

A heavy, solid clear glass decorative object in the form of an egg. The piece features internal zanfirico style decoration consisting of broad, deep cobalt blue bands spiralling through the clear glass body. This hand-worked sculpture is finished with a polished pontil mark to the base. A small internal seed bubble is present within the clear glass, resulting from the hand-blowing process. The base is polished flat to form a resting surface, but bears no readable maker’s marks, signatures, or labels.
