Lot 268: A Set of Six Victorian Glass Apothecary Shop Rounds with Gilt Glass Labels

A set of six antique clear glass cylindrical bottles, known as shop rounds, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. Each bottle is designed with a ground glass shoulder and is paired with a matching square-headed ground glass stopper. The bottles are fitted with recessed glass lorgnette labels featuring reverse-painted black lettering on a gold-leaf ground, finished with a red and black border. The labels bear the following abbreviated Latin pharmaceutical inscriptions: INF: QUASSIÆ. (CONC:), EXT: CASC: SAC: L:, SPT: AMMON: AR:, ACID: PHOSPH: D:, TINCT: CARD: CO:, and TINCT: RHEI: CO:.
