Lot 269: A Trio of Victorian Clear Glass Apothecary Jars

A trio of Victorian clear glass apothecary jars of cylindrical form, each constructed with a tapering shoulder and a ground glass neck. Every jar retains its original matching square-headed glass stopper. The jars are decorated with rectangular reverse-painted glass labels featuring black serif lettering on a white ground, enclosed within gold leaf and red enamel borders. The labels are inscribed CARYOPHYL:, HIERA PICRA., and GUM: ACACIÆ. The bases of the jars are embossed with a capital letter W within a rectangular border.
