Lot 290: A collection of nine glass apothecary storage bottles

A collection of nine mould-blown glass apothecary storage bottles of graduated sizes, including four large bottles and five smaller examples. The set is predominantly finished in a light aqua-blue tint, with one large bottle featuring a pale green tint. Each bottle is of rectangular or square section with rounded shoulders and a ground-in glass stopper with a rectangular or square tab grip. Several pieces retain remnants of aged twine tied around the necks. One large bottle bears a rectangular cream paper label printed in blue reading S. T. SWADDLE / 37 Holywell Avenue / Whitley Bay, NE26 3AQ / Northumberland, with the name Peter Swaddle handwritten above in blue ink.
