Lot 296: A set of four clear glass square apothecary bottles

A set of four clear glass chemist or apothecary shop-round bottles of square-section form. Each bottle features a ground-glass neck and is fitted with a corresponding rectangular faceted glass stopper. The bottles are finished with black-enameled, hand-painted style block lettering to the front of each. The front of the bottles bear the literal inscriptions P. / SCILLAE., ZINC. / CARB. / PUR., SOD. / BROM. and SOD. / BIBOR. The bases exhibit indistinct embossed marks, with the numeral 8 visible on one base; these markings are not legible as a manufacturer name.
