Lot 313: A Collection of Approximately 30 Vinyl LPs Including The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Fleetwood Mac, and Simon and Garfunkel
An assortment of approximately 32 12-inch vinyl LPs featuring a range of classic rock, folk, pop, and singer-songwriter albums from the late 1960s to the mid-1980s. The collection includes notable titles by The Beatles including Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band with a Parlophone label and A Collection of Beatles Oldies featuring a Parlophone label with a printed logo on the bottom right of the sleeve. Bob Dylan is represented by Hard Rain bearing a CBS logo and catalogue number 81600, and Nashville Skyline with a CBS logo and catalogue number 63601.
The lot contains several albums by Fleetwood Mac including Rumours and a CBS Embassy pressing of Fleetwood Mac and Christine Perfect – Albatross bearing a yellow adhesive price sticker reading £2.29. Simon and Garfunkel titles include Bridge Over Troubled Water (CBS 63699) and Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme (CBS 62860). Also present are Elton John’s Madman Across the Water and A Single Man, Neil Young’s After the Gold Rush (Reprise RSLP 6383), and Eric Clapton’s 461 Ocean Boulevard.
Further albums include a Polydor Special pressing of Cream, Cat Stevens’ Greatest Hits and Mona Bone Jakon, Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells, and Paul McCartney and Wings’ Band on the Run (Apple/PAS 10007). The collection features 1980s pop titles from Culture Club, a-ha, and Adam and the Ants. Two duplicate copies of Al Stewart’s The First Album (Bed-Sitter Images) on the CBS label are included.
International and niche interest items include a Romanian pressing by Cristian Paturcă titled Din cîntecele Golanilor (I) on the IRIMAG label, and Ștefan Hrușcă’s Colinde on the Electrecord label. Compilation albums such as Bumpers by Island Records and various greatest hits collections are also present. The albums are housed in a mix of standard and gatefold sleeves, many showing printed labels for CBS, Parlophone, Polydor, and Electrecord.
