Lot 500: A Collection of Sterling Silver and Silver Plated Flatware, Brass Candlesticks and a Ronson Table Lighter

A collection of assorted metalware and table items. The group includes two pairs of brass candlesticks, one pair featuring faceted stems and the other with turned baluster stems, alongside a large brass hand bell with a turned wooden handle. A rectangular cigarette box features an engine-turned lid with a central rectangular vacant cartouche. A Ronson table lighter is presented in its original white cardboard box, the lid interior printed with the Ronson logo, World’s Greatest Lighter, and Made in England; the lighter itself features a gadrooned base.

The flatware includes several cased sets. One large blue-lined case contains fish knives and forks with cream-coloured handles; the ferrules are struck with a lower-case q in a shield, a lion passant, a crown, and a mark for S and Co. A brown case contains five teaspoons, the handle reverses struck with a lion passant, an anchor, a date letter n, and the maker initials L.E.P.S. A further blue-lined case contains six knives with blue handles, the blades stamped E.P.N.S. A small case contains six teaspoons and a pair of sugar tongs with ornate cast handles. A final case contains six knives with white handles.
