Lot 531: A Collection of Hornby Series O Gauge Tinplate Clockwork Model Trains and Accessories

A collection of vintage pre-war O gauge model railway items constructed from lithographed tinplate. The group includes a clockwork 0-4-0 tank locomotive finished in LMS maroon livery, featuring gold-toned characters reading LMS and the number 2270 on the cab side. Rolling stock consists of a Pullman Washington passenger coach in green and cream with a red roof, a North American style NYC 2528 caboose in green and red lithography, a grey 13T 163502 open wagon, and a green and grey NE 12530 open wagon.

The collection is accompanied by various original card boxes. A large red box lid is printed RS687 CABOOSE Hornby Series GAUGE O GAUGE O AC Printed in Great Britain. A small blue box reads W602 M1 WAGON Hornby Series GAUGE O GAUGE O Printed in Great Britain. The base of a level crossing box is printed GAUGE O M LEVEL CROSSING A869 HORNBY SERIES. An additional orange and brown box is printed Hornby Series.

Accessories include a tinplate M Level Crossing and a single section of curved metal two-rail track. The caboose features a small yellow printed box on the side reading HORNBY SERIES MANFD.
