Lot 532: A Group of Five Elastolin Composition British Infantry Toy Soldiers and Stretcher Accessory

A group of German-made composition toy soldiers modeled after British infantry of the World War I era. The figures are constructed of molded sawdust and glue composition over wire frames, featuring hand-painted finishes in olive drab and brown tones. The group includes two infantrymen in walking poses, each carrying two green ammunition crates with wire handles. Two further figures are depicted as flamethrower operators, fitted with circular backpack tanks and connecting cords; each figure holds a metal rod nozzle terminating in a molded composition flame. Completing the group is a single field stretcher accessory, featuring an olive drab composition bed with four integral feet and four protruding metal handle bars. The figures are mounted on integral oval bases. One oval base is embossed to the underside with the molded name ELASTOLIN above the word GERMANY.
