Lot 534: A Collection of Vintage Die-cast and Lead Military Toys Including Dinky Supertoys
A collection of vintage military-themed toys comprising various die-cast vehicles, artillery pieces, and hollow-cast lead figures. The assortment includes a heavy artillery tractor, tanks, several individual cannons, limbers, and infantry figures.
The largest vehicle is a green die-cast 6-wheeled truck with an integrated crane arm. The base is an impressed green-painted plate with the characters DINKY SUPERTOYS in an oval cartouche, MEDIUM ARTILLERY TRACTOR, MADE IN ENGLAND, and MECCANO LTD. A second large green die-cast truck, likely a 10-ton model, features a detailed cab and open bed but is missing its rear canopy.
The artillery component includes several die-cast pieces. One large artillery mount features a pivoting barrel and is heavily oxidised. Two limbers with large spoke wheels are included. One die-cast cannon is finished in red and green with a pivoting barrel. Another smaller cannon is painted red with a silver-tone barrel.
Tracked vehicles include a green die-cast light tank, designed in the Vickers style, featuring a rotating turret and small integrated rollers on the underside. A second tracked chassis is also present. One die-cast chassis is missing its upper bodywork and several wheels, with a circular turret ring visible. The base of one vehicle is impressed with the characters MADE IN ENGLAND and the number 66.
The collection includes several hollow-cast lead soldier figures. These comprise British infantry in khaki uniforms and French infantry in blue tunics with red trousers. Included are a nurse figure in a white apron and habit with a red cross, and a horse-drawn team with a mounted driver.
