Lot 650: Vesna Russian Mechanical Mantel Clock with Two-Tone Sunburst Case

A Russian mechanical mantel clock featuring a circular body mounted on a rectangular plinth base with notched ends. The case is constructed from wood or a wood-composite material, finished with a high-gloss, two-tone sunburst transition from dark mahogany tones to a lighter amber centre. The dial features a gold-tone outer ring with decorative black serif Arabic numerals and a dashed minute track, surrounding a central amber-coloured inset. It is fitted with gold-tone decorative open-work heart-style hour and minute hands and a thin sweep seconds hand.

The dial is printed with black text in the upper right quadrant reading MADE IN RUSSIA. The rear movement plate is stamped in uppercase with the name VEESNA above the number 85155. Further Cyrillic markings on the movement plate include an arrow pointing counter-clockwise above the word ЗАВОД and an arrow pointing clockwise below СТРЕЛКИ. The mechanical wind-up movement is visible through the back, including a plastic-cased escapement assembly. The back of the circular housing is made of plastic and includes a removable black circular cover. The unit is supported by small black circular feet. A separate metal winding key is included.
