Lot 653: A Trio of Natural History Coral Specimens including Heliopora Coerulea
A trio of natural coral specimens comprising three distinct skeletal forms. The first specimen is a dome-shaped Faviidae brain coral, featuring a surface of closely packed polygonal corallites with visible radiating septa. The second specimen is a Blue Ridge coral (Heliopora coerulea) with a branching, lobed habit and a characteristic grey-blue hue; the surface is covered in a fine network of minute pores. The third specimen is a cauliflower coral (Pocillopora sp.), exhibiting a clustered structure with flattened, blade-like branch tips and a spiky surface texture formed by small protruding corallites. The specimens are presented in their natural state, showing off-white to cream and blue-grey tones.
