Lot 103: Arnold and Lewis Silver Open Face Pocket Watch with Associated Box and Key gross circa 90g

A silver-cased open-face pocket watch featuring a white enamel dial with black Roman numeral hour markers and a subsidiary seconds dial at the six o’clock position. The dial is printed with the name ARNOLD & LEWIS MANCHESTER and has gold-tone spade hands. The case back is finished with engine-turning around a central vacant cartouche and has reeded edges. Inside the case back are several struck marks including a maker’s mark reading F. S. E, a lion passant, a shield with three wheat sheaves, and a Gothic-style letter m. The number 05 is stamped below these marks. The watch is accompanied by a brass T-bar winding key. The set is presented in a blue leatherette-covered box with a cream silk and black velvet interior. The silk lid lining is printed with The NORTHERN GOLDSMITH’S COMPANY NEWCASTLE ON TYNE.
