Lot 355: A Trio of Unterweissbach Porcelain Figurines and a Floral Encrusted Piano Trinket Box
A three-piece group of glazed porcelain decorative items. The collection includes two Unterweissbach figurines and a floral trinket box.
The first figurine depicts a woman in 18th-century style dress, decorated in blue and white with gilt accents. She is shown seated at a dressing table, holding a cosmetic accessory and looking into a mirror. The underside of the base features an underglaze blue mark consisting of a crown above a shield containing the words UNTER WEISS BACH, all within a raised scrollwork border. The base is also incised with the numerals 8839 followed by a small 6, alongside a stamped 17 and a hand-painted blue II.
The second figurine shows a woman in a dark blue and white 18th-century style dress with gilt highlights, seated and playing a keyboard instrument. The base carries the same underglaze blue crown and shield mark for UNTER WEISS BACH within a scrollwork border. It is incised with the number 8843 and bears a stamped number 26.
The third item is a lidded trinket box in the form of a grand piano. The lid is decorated with applied porcelain flowers, including yellow and pink roses and blue forget-me-nots. The body of the piano is finished with hand-painted floral sprigs and gold lining.
