A traditional Scottish two-handled drinking bowl, or quaich, constructed from cast white metal with a dull grey finish. The vessel features a circular body with a flared rim and is supported by a short, integrated pedestal foot. Two flat, triangular handles, known as lugs, are attached at the rim, each decorated with raised Celtic interlaced knotwork. A chased band of repeating Celtic knotwork ornament encircles the exterior below the rim. The interior floor of the bowl is set with a central raised boss in the form of a Scottish thistle with two flowering heads and jagged foliate leaves. The exterior of the bowl is hand-engraved with a commemorative inscription reading Presented to Davidne followed by the date November 2008. The underside of the base is plain with visible concentric machining marks and no maker’s marks or hallmarks are present.
