Lot 379: Bernard Rooke Brutalist Stoneware Table Lamp

A sculptural studio pottery table lamp by Bernard Rooke. The stoneware body is constructed from hand-built sections in a brutalist style, featuring a sequence of totemic forms with complex relief decoration. This includes circular wheel-shaped motifs, ribbed textures, and geometric patterns. The glaze is a salt-glazed stoneware in earthy brown tones, with a central disc-shaped section finished in a sage green celadon-style wash. The ceramic body is mounted on a square, tapered composite base. The lamp is fitted with a white plastic B22 bayonet cap lamp holder, an in-line thumb switch, and a white PVC cable. The side of the base bears an impressed mark reading ROOKE in capital letters, and a second impressed line below reading MADE IN ENGLAND.
