Lot 380: A Pair of Painted Composite Figural Groups Depicting Laurel and Hardy Seated on a Bench

A pair of painted composite or resin figurines portraying the comedy duo Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. The figures are depicted in a seated pose on a separate miniature black-painted metal garden bench featuring decorative scrollwork supports. The figure of Oliver Hardy is dressed in a black suit with a red and white striped tie and a teal-coloured bowler hat, holding a rotary telephone dial. The figure of Stan Laurel wears a brown jacket over a white shirt with a red polka-dot bowtie, depicted holding a candlestick telephone receiver to his ear and a separate mouthpiece. Both figures are rendered with caricatured facial expressions and a matte painted finish. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the exterior surfaces of the figures or the bench.
