Lot 383: A Pair of Hand Blown Studio Glass Vases
A pair of hand-blown studio glass vases featuring distinct decorative techniques. The first is a cylindrical vase with a widely flared and flattened rim, decorated with a marbelised pulled-thread pattern. The design incorporates swirls of opaque white and light blue with occasional pinkish-red streaks against a translucent light blue ground. The underside features a rough, snapped-off pontil mark. The second vase is of bulbous ovoid form with a short, flared neck. The body is finished in a mottled deep magenta or cranberry pink tone, with an abstract landscape-style band around the lower section in shades of dark blue, black, and white. The interior of the neck shows a translucent lavender hue. The base of the ovoid vase is polished smooth, revealing internal swirls of purple and white. Neither piece bears a readable signature, maker’s mark, or label.
