Lot 468: A Collection of Dinky Toys Die-Cast Public Transport and Commercial Vehicles

A collection of die-cast metal toy vehicles produced by Meccano Ltd. The group comprises various public transport models and commercial trucks. The public transport section includes four double-decker buses, featuring a red example with Outspan Oranges and Grapefruit transfers and another in red with Exide Batteries advertising. Other double-deckers are finished in two-tone navy and cream and green and cream liveries. The single-decker vehicles include eight coaches and buses in diverse colour schemes, including maroon, two-tone yellow and cream, and a red Red Arrow bus. The commercial vehicles consist of a green Commer service truck equipped with a yellow hoist and a maroon articulated tractor unit with a flatbed trailer.

The underside of the green and cream single-decker bus is impressed DINKY TOYS, AUTOBUS PARISIEN SOMUA PANHARD, FABRIQUE EN FRANCE, PAR MECCANO. The base of the maroon coach is impressed DINKY TOYS, LUXURY COACH, MADE IN ENGLAND BY MECCANO LTD. The yellow and cream coach features a black-finished base impressed DINKY TOYS, OBSERVATION COACH, MADE IN ENGLAND BY MECCANO LTD. One red double-decker bus has a metal base impressed DINKY TOYS, MADE IN ENGLAND BY MECCANO LTD.
