Lot 475: Murano Style Polychrome Glass Clown Figurine with Hoop

A polychrome glass figurine of a standing clown, furnace-worked in a style characteristic of Venetian glassmaking. The figure is depicted with an opaque white face featuring a red nose and mouth, topped with yellow hair and a translucent green top hat. He wears a large, ruffled red collar and oversized black shoes. The clown holds a twisted green glass hoop in his opaque white hands, flanked by two large blue disc-shaped glass elements. The torso and legs are composed of clear glass with internal multicoloured cane inclusions in red, yellow, and blue. The piece is supported on a heavy black glass base. No maker names, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
