Lot 49: A Set of Six Sterling Silver Art Deco Teaspoons Birmingham 1949

A set of six sterling silver teaspoons featuring a distinct Art Deco design. Each spoon is constructed with a tapered, flat handle terminating in a stepped geometric point. The reverse of each handle bears a series of four struck hallmarks: a rectangular punch with clipped corners containing the characters ALD followed by a smaller B; an anchor symbol; a lion passant; and a lowercase z within a shield-shaped punch. The spoons are housed in their original black leatherette presentation case with a cream silk-lined lid and a fitted black velvet-lined base.
