Lot 493: Corgi The Aviation Archive AA36903 Junkers Ju-52 3/m British Airways Ltd Model Aircraft

A 1:72 scale die-cast model of a Junkers Ju-52 3/m aircraft, finished in the British Airways Ltd livery as flown from Gatwick Airport, London, in 1936. The model is constructed from die-cast metal with plastic components, featuring a silver-coloured finish with a corrugated metal effect. The wings and fuselage bear black engine cowlings, black wing bands, and the registration mark G-AFAP. The fuselage side is printed with the text BRITISH AIRWAYS LTD LONDON. The aircraft is fitted with three rotating propellers.

The item is housed in its original black cardboard box which features a printed illustration of the aircraft and the CORGI logo alongside a stylized dog head. The packaging includes the original white polystyrene inner protection and a two-part black plastic display stand. Included is a paper Corgi Certificate, which bears a black and white cloud-effect background and states: This is to certify that this is a Limited Edition and is NO. 0668 of only 1160 Distributed Worldwide. The box exterior also carries a printed label with the identification AA36903 and the series title THE AVIATION ARCHIVE – THE AUTHORIZED CIVIL AND MILITARY AVIATION COLLECTION. A small white adhesive price or inventory sticker on the box lid reads 12270.
