Lot 491: A Large Collection of Britains Plastic Farm Animals and Wooden Buildings
A large composite collection of farmyard accessories and buildings. The set includes two wooden structures: a large barn with a pitched dark brown roof and two arched entrances, and a smaller lean-to stable with a red roof. Both buildings are constructed from plywood. The accessories comprise a wide variety of molded plastic figures including farmers, a horse rider, and numerous animals such as cows, bulls, sheep, pigs, goats, horses, a donkey, chickens, and ducks. Several landscape elements are included, such as interlocking grey stone-effect wall sections, a small bridge, and yellow hay bales. One white and brown cow figure features an embossed mark on its side in capital letters reading BRITAINS. Other figures are unmarked or have illegible impressed marks on their undersides.
