Lot 53: Sterling Silver Hooded Tea Strainer Spoon circa 43g

A sterling silver tea strainer spoon featuring a uniquely constructed bowl with a circular perforated lower section and a solid, tapered hood. The handle terminates in a flared design decorated with foliate and scroll motifs. The underside of the bowl displays several marks: an impressed maker’s mark reading AF&Co in a clipped rectangle, followed by an oval punch , a triangular import mark containing three circles, and a date letter I in a shield cartouche. Below these marks is an impressed registry number reading Rd 556219. The stem of the handle is further struck with a crescent moon symbol, a crown symbol, and numbers.
