Lot 695: A Trio of Decorative Medieval Figural Sculptures
A trio of decorative figurines depicting medieval figures, comprising a seated king, a seated queen, and a standing knight. The figures are constructed from cold-cast resin, hand-painted with a variety of textures to simulate chainmail, fabric, and stone. The seated queen is depicted in a flowing red gown with gold-tone decorative borders and a simulated pearl necklace. She wears a crown and sits upon a green-toned throne featuring Celtic knotwork motifs in relief, two dragon-head finials, and a large red faceted faux-gemstone at the crest. The seated king is shown in a red cloak over silver-toned chainmail, holding a broadsword and a crested helmet. His throne matches that of the queen in colour and decorative Celtic detailing. The standing knight is depicted in full silver-toned chainmail with a red surcoat bearing a stylized gold and silver cross. He holds a blue-sheathed sword, with a blue heater-style shield featuring a gold cross resting against his left leg. The seated figures are mounted on integral rectangular stone-effect bases, while the knight stands upon a circular base. No maker marks, signatures, or country-of-origin labels are visible on the exterior surfaces of the figurines.
