Lot 708: An Italfama Eastern Themed Figurative Metal Chess Set and Board

A complete decorative chess set featuring Eastern-themed figurative cast metal pieces in contrasting antiqued brass and silver-toned finishes. The set includes thirty-two pieces: pawns depicted as infantry or attendants in traditional dress, rooks formed as torii gate architectural structures, knights as stylized winged dragons or sea-serpents, bishops as robed figures with scrolls or weapons, and elaborately dressed royal figures as kings and queens. The pieces are mounted on a square wooden board frame with an integrated metal playing surface, featuring ornate black scrollwork patterns within the dark squares. The underside of one piece bears a circular red adhesive label with a stylized gold logo featuring the letters i, f, and m, above the text MADE IN ITALY.
