Lot 72: A Three Piece Sterling Silver Mounted Dressing Table Set circa 150g net

A British Hallmarked sterling silver mounted vanity set featuring a hand mirror, a hairbrush, and a dressing comb. Each piece is decorated in a Rococo Revival style with dense repoussé work of C-scrolls, foliate motifs, and floral clusters. The brush and mirror both feature a vacant oval cartouche to the centre of the reverse. The hand mirror is fitted with a beveled glass plate, while the hairbrush contains natural bristles set into a wooden base. The comb is constructed with a silver mounted spine over faux-tortoiseshell teeth.

The spine of the comb and the bodies of the brush and mirror bear four stamped marks: the initials RC in a clipped-corner rectangular shield; a Tudor rose in a circular shield with petal projections; a profile of a walking lion facing left; and a capital letter T in a square shield with clipped corners.
