Lot 728: Binley Aris 'Village Almshouses' and Two Other Landscape Works (Signed)

A trio of landscape artworks comprising two watercolours and one oil painting. The first watercolour on paper depicts a substantial white building with a red-tiled roof and decorative cross finials on the gables, set before a church spire and mature trees. It is signed and dated ‘Binley Aris 84’ in the lower-left corner. The second watercolour on paper features a picturesque stone arch bridge spanning a stream, flanked by whitewashed cottages and trees. Both watercolours are presented in matching dark wood frames with gilt-tone inner slips and brown card mounts. The third work is a small-scale oil painting on board depicting a pastoral scene with a girl in traditional dress herding sheep and cattle through a field during autumn. This oil painting is housed in a deep, ornate gilt-finished frame featuring a repeat bead-and-cove profile and foliate corner motifs.
