Lot 93: Keyford Frames Ltd Hallmarked Sterling Silver Mounted Photograph Frame 1994 17x14cm

A landscape-oriented photograph frame featuring an ornate sterling silver mount pinned to a velvet-covered wooden body. The silver mount is decorated in a Rococo revival style with a prominent Green Man mask centered on the lower edge, flanked by winged cherubs and foliate scrolls. The background of the repoussé work features a diaper-patterned ground. The inner and outer borders are finished with a beaded edge, and a plain polished shield-shaped cartouche is positioned at the top centre. The reverse is finished in dark blue velvet with a matching easel stand and two brass swivel closures to secure the internal backing.

The silver mount is stamped with a series of hallmarks on the lower left edge. These include a maker’s mark in a rectangular shield reading KFLD, the lion passant for sterling silver, a leopard’s head for the London Assay Office, and a lowercase date letter u in a circular shield. A smaller set of marks is also visible on the top central cartouche.
