Lot 103: Contemporary Mixed Media Abstract Collage in an Elaborate Asymmetrical Frame 79x66cm

A contemporary mixed media work on paper featuring an abstract composition of collaged prints, silver leaf, and heavy impasto paint. The underlying layer consists of fragmented reproductions of historical engravings, including a celestial zodiac map with visible signs for Gemini, Taurus, and Pisces, as well as classical putti and architectural borders. These elements are overlaid with vigorous, gestural applications of thick yellow and orange impasto paint and splatters of black ink. Flakes of silver leaf are interspersed throughout the textured surface. The work is housed in a distinctive asymmetrical frame with a large, carved foliate and scrollwork ornament to the left-hand side, finished in a dual-toned black and gold effect.
