Lot 218: A Pair of Hand-Carved and Polychrome Painted Wooden Duck Figurines

A pair of hand-carved wooden duck figurines featuring polychrome painted decoration. The items consist of two ducks in contrasting poses; one is a shelf-sitter designed to perch on an edge with its head leaning downwards, while the other is a freestanding figure in an upright position with its head tilted upwards. The figurines are carved from wood with a visible grain and feature incised wing feathers highlighted with green, red, and yellow pigments. The beaks and feet are painted in a reddish-orange colour, and the eyes are rendered as simple circular details. The bases show recessed circular apertures.
