Lot 378: Vintage hand-painted jester and saw pendulum balance toy on stand 34cm tall
A hand-painted sheet metal pendulum balance toy featuring a jester figure. The figure is depicted in profile wearing a blue tunic with a white ruffled collar, yellow and green trousers, and black boots. The jester wears a blue pointed hat decorated with yellow stars. The figure is mounted to a curved green-painted toothed metal bar that terminates in a spherical counterweight. The toy operates on a gravity-fed balance mechanism, designed to rock back and forth when placed on the included stand. The stand consists of a four-footed rectangular base with a central vertical support terminating in a two-pronged rest. There are no maker marks, signatures, or labels visible on the figure or the stand.
