Lot 481: A Collection of T.G. Green Cornish Kitchen Ware Storage Jars

A collection of blue and white banded earthenware kitchen storage jars from the Cornish Kitchen Ware range by T.G. Green and Co Ltd. The assortment consists of a large biscuit barrel featuring lateral lug handles and a domed lid with a circular knob finial, two cylindrical lidded storage jars for Currants and Sago, and two open cylindrical jars for Flour and Raisins. Each piece is decorated in the classic Cornishware pattern of alternating horizontal bands of blue slip and white earthenware. The contents labels are applied in black transfer-printed block capitals. The base of the pieces bears the factory backstamp featuring a shield mark with the text T.G. Green and Co Ltd, Made in England, and Cornish Kitchen Ware, below which is a small landscape motif.
